Taliban numbers rising in Pakistani city of Karachi

Help

The Taliban are increasing in number and appointing new leaders, police in Karachi have told the BBC.

The group is apparently forging links with other militant organisations in the region and telling its members to recruit people from the UK and US.

It is thought the man charged with the failed bombing of New York's Times Square, Faisal Sahzad, spent lengthy periods in the city.

Orla Guerin reports from Karachi.
