Actor Kevin Costner wades into oil spill debate
Hollywood knows Kevin Costner as a world-renowned actor but on Capitol Hill he showed that he is passionate about cleaning up the oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
Costner told senators that his company, Ocean Therapy Solutions, has a product that is designed to separate oil from water in an effective and environmentally-sound way.
But it's a technology he put on the market a decade ago and should have been deployed as soon as the oil spill began, he said.
Costner's testimony for the Senate Small Business Committee came as BP's CEO Tony Hayward was being grilled by House members in another hearing.
