The number of UK service personnel who have died in the Afghanistan war since 2001 has reached 300, after a soldier died from his injuries at Birmingham's New Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The Ministry of Defence announced the death on Monday.
With the conflict likely to intensify over the summer, what are the UK and its Nato allies hoping to achieve, and what would success look like?
