UK growth downgraded by new fiscal watchdog

Britain's new fiscal watchdog has revised down the forecasts for growth given by the previous Labour government.

The chairman of the new Office for Budget Responsibility, Sir Alan Budd, said Labour's predictions were too optimistic, but that the damage was not permanent.
