Girl, six, stabbed in the chest in Guildford
Police found the girl at the house on the Bellfields estate
A six-year-old girl has been stabbed in the chest at a property in Surrey.
Officers were called to a house in Guildford's Bellfields estate just after midnight.
Surrey Police said the child was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in a serious condition. She is now described as being in a "comfortable" condition.
A man, 28, and a woman, 44, are being questioned by detectives on suspicion of attempted murder.
A force spokeswoman said a 44-year-old woman suffered stab wounds to her hand during the incident and was also treated in hospital.
She added: "The girl is now described as being in a comfortable condition and doing well."
Police are at the two-storey terraced house on the estate, which is in the north of the town.
Adam Howlett, 35, who lives six doors away, said: "The girl was a little angel, a little princess. She's a happy girl who would play on the grass outside."
