Obama pledges spill 'compensation for all affected'
President Obama has promised that every single person affected by the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will be properly compensated.
He is still robustly defending his response to the crisis.
BP says its efforts to plug the leak are starting to work but the process could yet take years. Several states are concerned that the slick is heading their way.
