Boy injured in jump from Jersey pier

A 15-year-old boy has been injured in Jersey after jumping off a pier and hitting a boat moored below.

Paramedics were called to Bouley Bay at about 1600 BST on Friday and said the teenager was in a lot of pain when they got there.

He suffered cuts to his face and a back injury as a result of landing on the boat which was about 12ft (3.7m) below.

The boy was taken to hospital on a spinal board and treated with pain killers and oxygen, paramedics said.
