Tiananmen marks 21st anniversary

Help

It's the 21st anniversary of a dark moment in recent Chinese history, the crackdown against protestors at Tiananmen Square.

On 3-4 June 1989, hundreds, possibly thousands, of Chinese protesters were killed when their mass demonstration on Beijing's Tiananmen Square was brutally crushed.

The square is heavily policed on the anniversary but BBC correspondent Damian Grammaticas managed to gain rare access.
