Witnesses to a state execution
Bridgette McGee-Robinson tracks down the Mississippi state travelling electric chair, the only one of its kind in the United States which was used to execute her grandfather Willie McGee in 1951.
She was asked to investigate his story by her mother as she lay on her deathbed and asked Bridgette to find out if he had really committed the crime.
Bridgette also hears a recording of the live radio coverage of the execution and hears from people who witnessed her grandfather's death.
Bridgette's story features in Pick of the Week on Radio 4 at 1815BST on Sunday 6 June and in The Travelling Electric Chair first broadcast on World Service on 2 June. Both programmes can be heard online at the above links after broadcast.
