Officers find man after fatal accident on A10

A man has been traced by police after an appeal to find him following the death of a pedestrian in a car crash on the A10 in Hertfordshire.

The incident took place at about 0230 BST on the southbound carriageway between the Hailey interchange and Hoddesdon.

The vehicle, a Rover has been recovered.

Hertfordshire Police said the man has now been found and is being questioned by officers.

A spokesman previously said the man may have vital information.

The road was blocked for about seven hours for forensic examination.

Witnesses to the incident are now being sought, a police spokeswoman said.

Police are not releasing details about the identity of the victim as next of kin are yet to be informed.
