Biker killed in Aberdeenshire road crash named
Malcolm Kennedy was named as the victim of the crash
A motorcyclist killed in a crash with a car on an Aberdeenshire road has been named.
Malcolm Kennedy, 48, an oil industry worker of Dyce, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the A957 at Rickarton near Stonehaven on Wednesday evening.
The driver of the silver Vauxhall Astra, a 50-year-old woman from Tayside, was unhurt.
Relatives of Mr Kennedy declined to comment. Police appealed for witnesses.
Grampian Police want to hear from witnesses who may have seen the bike, a black and orange KTM, before the crash.
The road was closed for several hours to allow accident investigators to examine the scene.
Earlier this year Grampian Police launched a summer-long safety campaign called Operation Zenith, aiming to cut the number of motorcyclists killed and seriously injured on north east roads.
