Benjamin Netanyahu: We regret this loss of life

Help

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the loss of life after an aid convoy was stormed was "regrettable".

Mr Netanyahu said that Israel had to defend itself against Hamas terrorists and "prevent weapons and war material from coming in to Gaza".

At least nine people have been killed after Israeli commandos stormed a convoy of ships carrying aid to the Gaza Strip.

Israel says its soldiers were shot at and attacked with weapons; the activists say Israeli troops came on board shooting.
