Help

US President Barack Obama is to visit the Gulf of Mexico on Friday, after admitting that the massive oil spill is dominating his every waking moment.

He said everything was being done to try to stop the leak and announced stringent new measures for the oil industry in the wake of the disaster.

Mr Obama also told reporters that while he took responsibility for ensuring the leak was plugged, he would make sure BP would cover the costs and compensate those affected by the spill.
