Heaviside's dolphin, Benguela
Cephalorhynchus heavisidii

These rare dolphins feed on bottom-dwelling fish and squid.

Life span
Unknown.

Statistics
Body length: 1.6-1.7m, Weight: 40-75kg.

Physical description
The front half of Heaviside's dolphins are grey, and the back is black. The white shading on the ventral surface extends upwards in rounded projections into the black flanks on both sides of the flippers.

Distribution
Heaviside's dolphins are found off the coast of South West Africa.

Diet
They feed on bottom-dwelling fish and squid.

Behaviour
Heaviside's dolphins live in small groups of 2-3 individuals.

Conservation status
They are classified as Data Deficient by the IUCN Red List.
