As with most beaked whales, little is known about this species and it is rarely seen.

Physical description Hubb's beaked whales have a dark body with a white cap and extensive scarring and a small dorsal fin. Half of the beak is white and they have a strongly arched mouth-line. The males have massive teeth, which are visible half-way down the beak.
Distribution Hubb's beaked whales inhabit the N Pacific, in warm temperate water.
Diet They feed on squid.
Behaviour Little is known about Hubb's beaked whale.
Conservation status Hubb's beaked whales are classified as Data Deficient by the 2000 Red List.
