The "Coasts" and Lakes & Rivers" teams were first off the mark in July with trips to a couple of more familiar destinations.

 SavannahProducer Amanda Barrett and Owen Newman set off yet again for the Serengeti - this time they wanted to capture the essence of the dry season. Amanda writes about what it's like on the Savannah at this time of year.

Researcher Pip Lawson and cameraman Richard Kirby took off to film the mighty Zambesi as it thunders it’s way through the steep sided gorges. Whilst they worked on the topside filming, a local video company helped with achieving the drama of being in and on the rapids by filming from canoes. Watch their footage.
