"I have to be an optimist. If I weren’t an optimist why would I be working in conservation and environmental management. I am so delighted by the contributions that people are willing to make, to set aside fishing grounds that they really can’t spare, to donate time and effort that they really don’t have. But I really believe we can turn this thing around and make sure that our planet stays habitable not just for ourselves but all the animals and plants in it. It’s going to take effort, it’s not going to be easy and we are going to have to accept some sacrifices but I am pretty confident we will do it because we have no other choice."
