Making Waves - Coral Seas
Off the Pacific island of Cocos (Costa Rica) the team film at night. White-tipped sharks are hunting among the coral heads for reef fish, but in total darkness they can only use their sense of hearing and electric signals given off by their prey. Over 30 sharks pile in under the coral but only one will catch the fish.
Malpelo is the real Tracy Island. It is hardly more than a rock 300 miles off the Columbian coast, but it attracts millions of fish, sometimes in such thick shoals that divers can't swim through them. Thousands of silky sharks and scalloped hammerheads swarm around the cameraman.
