Asian giant salamanders

Asian giant salamanders are the largest salamanders in the world, and species are found in China and Japan. These impressive animals grow to around 1.5m long.

About

Andrias is a genus of giant salamanders. It includes the largest salamanders in the world, with A. japonicus reaching a length of 1.44 m (4 ft 9 in), and A. davidianus reaching 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in). The last species, A. scheuchzeri, is only known from fossils, although some consider it and A. davidianus to be synonyms.
