To explore a coral reef and find out how its inhabitants depend on one another.

You can complete this mission in either of the two ways below.
You can play the Flash game, Web of Life, or you can play the Corals Quiz.

Descend to a colourful world beneath the waves and meet some of the fascinating creatures that make their homes among the coral.

Your goal is to understand how food chains work and how they combine to form complex food webs and energy pyramids.

There’s another way to explore the world of the reefs (and it doesn't require a plug-in).
Answer 20 questions and dive among the corals. It’s a great way to find out about this fragile ecosystem.

You’ll encounter the tropical species that live there and come to understand how they rely on the reefs and on one another to survive.



	The combined length of the world's coastlines is about 504,000km (313,200 miles), enough to circle the equator 12 times.

For both of these, you'll only be able to see your scorecard and get feedback if you have registered and logged in.
