Explore one of the most beautiful, colourful and diverse ecosystems on the planet - a coral reef. Find out how different species interact and compete with one another in these crowded underwater cities.
Just for fun Just for fun Just for fun
See if you can pick out perfect pairings on the reef. Work out which combinations of creatures form a terrific team and which are more likely to spell disaster!

Move on to the next stage and find out what you need to know in order to explore life on a coral reef.

You can find out about food chains, webs and pyramids and take a closer look at a few of the creatures that make coral reefs their home, from microscopic plankton to the largest fish in the sea - the mighty whale shark.

Measuring coastlines is a tricky business as it depends on the scale at which it is measured. The coastline appears longer as shorter rulers are used, because more small features and rocky promontories are included in the measurement.
