My Story. Everyone has a story. What's yours?

Add your story

Enter the competition here. You will be expected to read the Terms and Conditions and agree to them at the end of this form.

If your story meets the online House Rules, it may be published on the website too. You can write up to 1500 words in your story, and 300 words in your summary. Work on your computer first using one of the documents on the right, and save it before copying it into the form below. Before you begin, don't forget to look through all the top writing tips we provide.

The more remarkable and engaging your story the better, but remember that all events must have actually taken place. You should also read the Judging Criteria.

  1. 1. Story
  2. 2. Summary
  3. 3. About you

1. Add your story

Type in the title of your story and enter a short description. Copy and paste your full story into the box below.

Remember, judging is based on how great the story is, not on grammar and spelling.

Minimum words: 300, maximum words: 1500
Step 2 - summary

2a. Story summary

Write a summary of your story, featuring the key points. This section is important because the judges will only read the summaries to draw up the initial competition short-list. So choose your words carefully (using all 300 if possible) and highlight all the crucial events in this shorter version of your story.

To help other people search for and find your story on the website, select the theme that best reflects your story and add some keywords.

Minimum words: 50, maximum words: 300

E.g. pets, hospital, struggle

2b. Location

Where did your story take place?
