    If your story has been shortlisted you will be contacted on the phone number you gave when submitting your entry. Contact will be made by the end of February 2010. If you haven't heard by that point, please assume that your story has not been shortlisted.

    My Story Roadshows

    The My Story Roadshow visited six cities across the UK in September and October 2009.

    Judging the competition

    The judging process is now fully underway. In the middle of February a shortlist of people will be invited to London to meet the panel of judges who will select the five winning stories.

    The panel is chaired by Kate Mosse, author of the best-selling book "Labyrinth" and co-founder of the Orange Prize for Literature. Also on the panel is the award-winning writer and broadcaster Fergal Keane, and novelist Jenny Colgan.
