Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum

Kasabian

The Leicester band's third album was the first without former guitarist and writer Chris Karloff and has been seen by many as their strongest effort yet. Recorded with help from Gorillaz producer Dan the Automator and described by the band as "a soundtrack to an imaginary movie", it's already topped the UK album charts.

I agree!! They are a top bunch of lads - I met them all except Serge after the Notts Rock City gig. Tom even thanked me for having my album signed. I absolutely love the album and they are so amazing live. I didn't realise just how good they were live until I saw them doing their home gigs at Leicester in May. Immediately I wanted to see them again ... its a while since a band has made me feel like that!! They definitely deserve to win the Mercury Prize!!
