"I am a giant robot!!"
This is not due to any lack of,or over use of medication, but the overwhelming energy of NIN's music.
Each track is pulsing with raw sounds and beats that you can't help but react to.
Perhaps you might find yourself on a train, foot tapping and head rocking back and forth like some cybernetic Goose.
Or perhaps just at home slicing some bread.
now "Your a bread calving droid!".Just one of hundreds in an automated factory slicing an endless barrage of loafs.
Like 'With Teeth' this is a finley crafted mix of electronic industrial stompers and dark and moody melodies. Some attually wouldn't be out of place as score in a movie
"A movie with robots of course!"
As a whole its a great album for those who want their music both loud and fizzing and dark and brooding.
Trent Reznor is a robot and his music is converting me into his army or Mecanoids.
"All hail Reznor!..Fizzzz!"
Finally Placebo have found and crafted a completely professtional sound.Previous efforts have been good but filled with a few clunkers that would be better suited As B sides or back in the studio for some re-working.
After many attempts, they have knocked out a collection of thrashy belters with catchy guitar hooks and bass lines. The new drummer brings a new flavor to each song, mixing it up with exciting but never excessive beats and fills.
Some lyrics are a little questionable, but
overal this is Placebo at their best.So if you like then, you'll love this more than your 'Nightmare before Christmas'backpack.
If your a Placebo fan they this is all your be listening to for a while.
Or perhaps some high pitched interference caused his distress?.
Or perhaps he was just listening to La roux?.
If you unfortunate enough to listen to this album, you may believe your being tourtured into giving up valuable infomation.
I was attracted to La Roux thinking it would be a rich 80's inspired pop act. This is partly true, but sadly they
seemed to have forgot to add any substance or any real effort their sound. The sound is there, its just a shame that its not very good.
Jackson wails through most songs like someone has forced her to record them whilst balancing on a wire atop two skyscrapers.Bland fogettable songs filled with
Bleeps and bloops sounding like a keyboard demo running low on batteries,or sticky fingerd child stabbing the keys wildy during a suger rush.
Some songs were so bland I began to slip into a hazey daydream.
I pictured Jackson on her tightrope, wavy red hair blowing in her face as she struggled to maintain balance.Twisting and flayling limbs with sheets of lyrics blowing all over the place. The child was there too.Smashing away on the keys with gusto.
This was probably the highlight of the album.
Its not all bad i guess
