Biography
Kiss (sometimes typeset 'KISS', to fit the official logo) is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1973. Easily identified by their trademark face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s on the basis of their elaborate live performances, which featured firebreathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars, and pyrotechnics.
Kiss has been awarded 22 gold albums to date, and have certified sales of 19 million records in the United States. The group's worldwide sales exceed 80 million albums...

- 1973 Gene Simmons sets his hair alight during their industry showcase gig
- 1977 A Gallup poll names them most popular band in America
- 1978 All four band members release solo albums on the same day
- 1980 Drummer Criss leaves and is replaced by Eric Carr
- 1982 Due to poor album sales, the band do not tour, Frehley leaves
- 1983 Kiss appear without their makeup
- 1984 Bruce Kulick joins (their 4th guitarist in 3 years)
- 1991 Eric Carr dies from cancer
- 1996 The original line-up reform and make $43.6m on tour
- 2003 Frehley leaves for good - Criss is fired the following year
