BBC Introducing at Festivals - Reading & Leeds 2009

Reading and Leeds festival crowd

Following its successful debut in 2008, the BBC Introducing stage returned to both festival sites to showcase up-and-coming artists and bands from around the UK. Many of the bands that appeared earned their slot as a result of uploading their music to us via this website.

The festival ran from Friday 28 August - Sunday 30 August with full event coverage on the BBC's Reading and Leeds site.

Everything Everything ~ The art-pop collective delivered one of the weekend's stand-out sets.

Bear Driver ~ The Leeds dream-pop quartet from Leeds decorated the stage with peacock feathers.

Kutosis ~ The Cardiff trio won some new fans with their scuzzy new wave sound.

Kasms ~ London's Kasms put on a riotous show with singer Rachel throwing herself around the stage like a woman possessed.

Kinch ~ The youthful Leeds power-poppers put on a polished show.

Minnaars ~ The Leicester math-poppers played a razor sharp show and had the crowd shuffling their feet.
