Line-up and Artists: M.I.A

M.I.A played on Friday. Check our line-up & artists section to find out which stage and who else played.

Not to be confused with the Nottingham band Mia, M.I.A is the name of Mathanyi Arulpragasam's (Maya for short) solo venture. Born to Sri Lankan parents she has grown up in London and went to art school before going to St Martin's Art college where she trod in the footsteps of Jarvis Cocker among others.

Miike, Wakefield.

saw her at the O2 festival in london and she absolutely rocked the place. the tent was absolutely rammed and we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in but it was well worth the wait. fantastic

Mud, mud, mud and then SUN.......brilliant, right ? Just got back myself from GLASTO and had soooo much fun on all levels and my personal favourite DJ rocked, not one or two but four stages, with a memorable closing set on the Roots stage on Friday night and then a two hour set that became a 6hour set on the Glade stage from 6.30pm to 12.30am after the Sancho Panza crew on Saturday evening/night. Very different, entertaining and groovy dance set that had us all [a few thousand jumping around] loving him. Talk about reading and playing with the crowd, and loving every minute. So, thanks to Pathaan and all the other acts, performers, Djs, bands and the 100,000 + crowd. Oh and don't forget about Pathaan's new double mix cd, 'Universal Sunset' out now ! See his website for more details...... Yours Sophia :-)
Sophia - London

get cracking, get get cracking!!! absolutely blinding, enormous energy and drawing on so many different musical styles you can't fail to like her... as the MC on the John Peel stage said, who needs Kylie?
Mike in Hammersmith

Saw the girls support roots manuva in cambridge a month or two ago, since then they've been on radio 1 and played at glastonbury, of course. Very entertaining and its nice to hear something different, a must see live!
