Line-up and Artists: Maximo Park

Maximo Park played on Friday. Check our line-up & artists section to find out which stage and who else played.

Maximo Park A first summer on the outdoor circuit for these Geordie lads but not, one suspects, their last.

Armed with a barrel-load of angular pop tunes, a superb debut album ('A Certain Trigger'), some snazzy shirts and a rep for frantically sweaty live shows, they might just be this year’s Franz Ferdinand (who, lest we forget, conquered Glasto from a mere mid-afternoon slot last time round).

At the very least, by bombarding us with the urban angst so prevalent on Top 20 hits "Graffiti" and "Apply Some Pressure", they will provide a useful public service over at the John Peel Stage by reminding us all of what we’re 'missing' back in the city, sending the smog-free Glasto masses off to Mrs Miggins’ Mung-Bean Burger Stall up in the Naked Beardoes Arena with a spring in their step.

Avanti!

Comments on Maximo Park

I just saw Maximo Park for the first time. I almost fell asleep in my drink because they didn't come on till half 2 in the morning but it was well worth it. They were great. The singer had enormous energy and at that time of the night!
nic, wycombe

Maximo Park will rule the world one day. I'm sure of that. Can't wait to see them at Glastonbury. Then yourcodenameis:milo!!! its a novocastrian invasion.
hoyzarelli, novocastriland

I love Maximo Park's music, and I wan them to make more and more of it.
Kendra, Los Angeles

I saw Maximo Park recently in Minneapolis. There were about 100 people in attendance, but Maximo played like we were several thousand. They were awesome. The playing was dynamic and tight, but there was genuine passion, unlike so many "processed" pop acts today. I haven't been excited about any artist or band for a long time, but Maximo Park is the exception. It will be interesting to see how they progress.

their singles are good except for Graffiti, i mean, they have the potential, but i think they have got a bit swept away with themselves from Graffiti onwards
Leo, London

i have seen them twice in birmingham and they were wonderful. There album is great, full of excellent 'bouncy' tracks. Live they put on a show that is well worth the money.

Mon the park!! I saw them live a few weeks ago and loved them, since it's release A Certain Trigger has been on repeat. Can't wait to see them again. They all have that something about them, particularly Paul and Lukas.
