Line-up and Artists: The Killers

The Killers played on Friday. Check our line-up & artists section to find out which stage and who else played.

The Killers The Killers have had an amazing 12 months since playing an afternoon slot on the New Bands tent at last year's festival.

The Las Vegas four piece's fantastic debut album, 'Hot Fuss', hit No. 1 in the charts, some six months after it was first released, they were nominated for two Brit awards and they won the NME award for Best International Newcomer.

The jump to the Pyramid stage should win lead singer Brandon Flowers and the band a whole new legion of fans.

Comments on The Killers

I had the pleasure of watching the Killers on BBC3 last night and they were FANTASTIC - they rocked !!!!! They have every right to be on the pyramid stage - where have you been for the past year !!!
Sam Manchester

first of all can't believe everyone saying they want kylie at glastonbury, whats that about, sinse when was she rock. the killers on the other hand are new vibrant and hav a great future, being one of the top acts this year will propell them to great things. they acknowledged that they were not the best around and TURNED DOWN the headline slot but they still played a storming set and got the crowd going. top performance!
neil - coventry

This band is the new u2 and oasis all wrapped into one!!! absolutely out of this world!!!
Phil belfast

The Killers are great! I watched them on the Glastonbury coverage, they sound awesome!
Rachael, Norwich

Laura Essex

watched the killers tonight at glasto(through the tv) and they were amazing they gave me goobups throughout their perfomance they were totally and uterly amazing
miranda-jane-london

I have to agree with bob on this one I think the killers have earned their right to be on the main stage at glastonbury. They have gone farther in one year in both America and the UK then the chemical brothers did in either. I'm not trying to diss the chemical brothers just give the killers their due.
Mary - USA

The Killers are absolutely brilliant, saw them at the NME Awards, and cannot wait to see them perform at Glastonbury......they have to be one of the best new bands around at the moment.
Jan,Manchester

The Killers are incredible, how can the idiots on this page say they're not. They have got no taste whatsoever in Music.
Krusty, Sheffield

The Killers will prove all doubters wrong - they are fantastic live
Steven, Durham

Hayley-Devon

What's everyone's problem. On Sat Kaiser Chiefs are playing no ones slagging them off for only having ONE album. What would you prefer Goldie Looking F***ing Chain? Oh yeah, they're playing Sat as well.
Keith Drop, Vasey

The Killers are amazing! Can't wait to hear them preform "All these things that I've done". Hot fuss is an amazing album so what if there new! Rock on Killers!!!
Tractorboy Tom/Suffolk

Middlesbrough

I think The killers are one of the best band of the year
bob london

I saw the killers at the V Fest last year, they were awesome, i cannot wait for there next album! also try and look for some other live performances on the internet. Also i heard recently that they turned down the top spot because they felt there were bigger and more respected bands, i think that is just so respectful!
Sam - Midlands

The killers are new, but look at what they have achieved. The passion of their songs makes them ideal to close Glastonbury-imagine Mr Brightside right at the end with Brandon Flowers screaming 'I never' to an adoring crowd. Give them a chance they WILL NOT let us down
Dave Cleethorpes

EVERY1 DAT SAYS THE KILLERS DNT BELONG AT GLASTO ARE TALKIN S***- DERE AMAZIN ND ARE DEFINETLY 1 OF 2005'S BST BANDS. I CNT WAIT 2 C DEM- ILL BE THE 1 AT THE FRONT OF THE STAGE SCREAMIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHLOE

The Killers are the best band ever in my opinion, so i think its good that they got offered the main stage, yet also good that they didnt take it as they are a new band.
sam - london

I think the Killers are great! I Saw them live in Australia and they were really, really good. Great stuff!
Gem, staffs

juan , blackburn lancs

daisy somerset

the killers are awesome and are my favourite band of this year. brandon is the best!!!! hes got the best pout ever!!
becky bradford

The Killers are a fresh sound of electric indie rock- they are helping introduce a new generation into an indie revolution. Of course they are worthy of playing at Glastonbury. Daniel Bedingfield released singles from one album for 2 or 3 years, yet he still remained popular and fresh sounding. Surely The Killers exceptional, sure to be classic one album proves them to the adoring public?
Lissa, Sussex

They are an ace band and i can't wait to see some more ace music.
Ripon, North Yorshire

I have seen the killers at V festival last year the feild was packed the crowd loved them I loved them all you people saying they dont belong watch them and eat your words thats all i can say.............
emma nottingham

The Killers are amazing! Can't wait to hear them preform "All these things that I've done". Hot fuss is an amazing album so what if there new! Rock on Killers!!! Mat3
Dave Yates, Hull

aallim gonnasay is im 13 n i lv du killersthere so kool n brandon is just well fit.
chelsey/ west middlands

what are these peole on???? i think the killers rock ass!!! what does it matter that they are new?? how else do find out about bands, they preform! duh! whether its on the main stage in vegas or theyre opening for another band, i think they can play anywhere!
kimmy,riverside

i reckon vera lynn should have replaced kylie, she's been around for years, sold millions of albums and really paid her dues ... what's all this killers nonsense? must admit i'm too stupid personally to decide if a band is good off of only one album.
adam, london

Seeing 'The Killers' in the new tent was the highlight of my glastonbury last year. With the new fresh sound of hot fuss i was completely blown away! However it was another six months before the music scene really woke up to their talents. Therefore 'The Killers' may have to run through the same tunes performed last year but deserve their place on a bigger stage.
Al, Liverpool

Killers are just too new to make the headline slot. Whats the set list going to be? Well I could guess it'll all be off their ONE AND ONLY album. Surely Eavis realises its plain wrong. I'll be at the Other Stage to see an established quality artist who has been making great music for decades. I suggest everyone else does the same and leave the half dozen killers fans at the mainstage by themselves!
Dan, Southend-on-Sea

Killers or Kylie? Whats the difference? Both don't belong antwhere near closing out the biggest festival in the world. Mr. Eavis, please step up to the mark and right the Kylie wrong now!
Ross / Dublin

i think its brilliant the the killers are playing, they've definately got what it takes to finsh sunday night at glastonbury in style. i can't believe people are saying their not popular enough, just, look at how big their debut album has been. lastly i don't think people can really criticise the festivals choice to put on the killers as its had to be a very last minute decision and one where they probably haven't had all that much choice. i say good luck to them.
Victoria, Brighton

I cant understand why the killers should be playing the main stage...Kylie would have been good, but i wasnt that happy that she got the main slot on Sunday. But to bring in a 2nd DIVISION BAND (EMILY EAVIS'S WORDS NOT MINE) IS JUST TAKING THE P*S*.) Very very disapointed....EAVIS'S
Stephen-Tranmere

the killers are amazin they rock and they can really perform live theyre the best !!!!
sarah-cheltenham

I dont think the Killers are anywhere near popular enough to be playing the main stage at Glastonbury, kinda dissappointed really, they are too new, dont have enough hits or enough followers. at least kylie does...
jon, Chichester

Why the Killers ? Who ? t at Glastonbury, maybe in another 7 / 10 years...... move the Chemical brothers to the main stage they have a much larger following and have been around for ages.
Rach, Selsey

I wish kylie the best but i was a bit relieved when she cancelled, not really my taste... but the killers! what a weak weak replacement, i would rather have watched kylie! how can anyone honestly justify having such a new band headlining on the main stage? they have had little success and have even less fans
Simon - Bognor

What, im outraged... cant belive it! who are the Killers they have only been around 5 min. bands that perform at Glastonbury should have a huge following and have some history. Its a privelage to perform at such a large festival and quite frankly the Killers have not earnt it.
Kim, West Sussex

Yeah best newcomers but who wants a newcomer headlining the main stage, they dont have anywhere near enough of a following to justify this decision, i'm no pop fan but at least kylie's had a long career and has a large fan base.
Si - Chichester
