Line-up and Artists: Femi Kuti
Femi Kuti played on Sunday. Check our line-up & artists section to find out which stage and who else played.
Femi is the son of the legendary Nigerian Afro-Beat pioneer Fela Kuti. Femi is a worthy successor to his father and has added a new dimension to the polyrhythmic sound in which his father specialised.
Born in London in 1962 he rose to fame when he appeared in place of his father at the Hollywood Bowl after Fela was arrested at Lagos airport on a dubious fraud charge. Femi delighted the audience with the strident saxophone style and self-assured stage presence.

Comments on Femi Kuti
Fela got to lay on the pyramid stage, why not Femi, or Babba Maal for that matter? Pyramid stage bands these days are virtually universally total cr*p.

Femi Kuti remains one of Africa's true talents and rank, especially in the eyes of young lagosians ,one of the most talented artistes in the world and a true son of his father, the enigma, fela. so a place on glastonbury stage is well deserved.

Brilliant! You have to love femi
Lisa Smith, Exeter
I totaly agree, Femi was amazing once again and this should be closing the pyramid on the sunday night, it would blow peoples minds, half the people at the festival have never even heard of Femi, but it was by far the best thing i have ever seen at glastonbury and deserves the main billing.
