Brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll have always maintained a respected position at the forefront of UK electronic music. They were there at the conception of the UK rave scene in the late 80's and are still going today.
Orbital's 9th album, 'The Blue Album', is due for release in June this year.

Famous for their uplifting techno and cinematic soundscapes, the brothers have been delighting Glastonbury audiences for ten years, with a triumphant set in 1994 marking an important shift in audience attitudes towards live dance music.

The fact that they don't rely on DAT or backing tapes for live performances provides winning results (demonstrated by 'Best Live Show' awards in both NME and Q Magazine over the years).

Sadly, the boys have decided to call it a day and their fifth Glastonbury appearance has been chosen as the perfect time for their farewell concert. They'll be sorely missed but rest assured they will bow out in their usual blistering style.
Orbital facts

  • Orbital's Glastonbury will be turned into a 6 Music Special 6 Mix
  • Orbital are named after London's 'orbital' M25 motorway, central to the early rave network in the 1980s
  • Orbital's best selling record was a remix of the original TV version of 'The Saint' for the 1997 film with Val Kilmer
  • Paul Hartnoll used to be in a band called 'Noddy and The Satellites' whilst Phil used to be a bricklayer
  • Orbital wore Anti Poll Tax t-shirts for their first Top of the Pops appearance with 'Chime'

"What with this being Orbital's swansong, it doesn't half feel like an event but, then again, their gigs were always an event anyway. They've treated the stage like a giant kaleidoscope, painting vivid textures that complement their intricate electro wallopery gorgeously, and, even after all these years, they haven't lost the power of surprise."

Had a choice between MUSE and ORBITAL i went to ORBITAL and made the right choice FANtastic

Orbital blew my mind and 10 of my good friends to pieces. Absolutely awesome send off by the greatest live dance act ever...!!!
JamesH, Clapham

Never seen Orbital live before so what a fitting way to do it, at one of their last ever live performances. Awsome is all I can say, absolutely blew me away. It almost brought me to tears. Thanks brothers Hartnoll, we'll miss you!
Chops from Surrey

Actually agree with Lukas (above), gues my expectations were too high after watching them play at Glasto on the telly for years. Was good but not the best. Perhaps we were all a bit to knackered?!
Bex, Cheshire

// A rare blend of technical mastery and creative urge so intoxicating to the mind that it has the power to change hearts and minds. Rich and dense multilayered textures weaving amongst precisely timed hypnoic drum patterns occaisionally speared through by achingly beautiful female vocals. They make usual dance music sound flat and 1 dimesional by comparision. I have been lucky enough to see them a few times , the one time I treasure was a 'Herbal Tea Party', in Manchester - a small and intimate space. - Good that they are going, they will move on and infuse something else with whatever it is they have that makes music worth bothering with.
Ambrose - left of center

Although I enjoyed it I have to admit I was disappointed. After loving their music for years and the much-coveted Glasto performances in the past I guess my expectations were too high, but it just wasn't up to scratch and sounded dated. the light show wasn't great either (Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx had a much more energetic performance and weren't just going through the motions). There were a lot of people at the back who just stood there, not everyone was enjoying it. They're retiring at the right time if you ask me - thanks for everything P&P!
Lukas, Frankfurt (Germany)

Absolutely amazing, im glad I was there at Glasto to be a part of it. Shame the Beeb cut the coverage so much once I saw the video when I got home. Why was it so blurry??
Carl Bexleyheath

They jolly well rocked, they did! Its taken me 10 years to get round to seeing Orbital live and I have to say they did not let me down, in fact at one point (Chime I think it was) they made me cry tears of pure JOY!!! Can't wait to here the new album...
Karen C, IOM

something very special happened to me! the main reason i went to glastonbury was to see orbital playing their last set ever,so i was there 40 minutes before they started right on the front it was soo special and magical the sound was incredible i had the time of my life!! but anyway it finished we carry on partying untill the early hours went to have a 2 hour kick before we pack everything up and head to the east 3 cark park just before the circus stage i was just thinking how amazing orbital was and felling a bit emotional about them spliting up and not be able to see them ever again when suddenly guess who i saw...? just standing there like waiting for msomething to happened, it was phil, YES phil hartnoll i could not believe my eyes!! i couldnot hide my fellings and shouted "PHIL" i love you man""when to cuddle him he then cuddle me too and said to him, what a fantastic set phil, thanks for some fantastic memories, is it ok if my wife takes a picture of us he said, yes not a problem a tear came out of my eye she took a picture and he said to me... thank you sooo much!! thank you!!!and give me another friendly cuddle and can see tearfull eyes on phil like he was gutted to call it a day!! but what a experience that was!!! thanks ORBITAL CHEERS PHIL! WHAT A NICE GUY!!
hector gonzalez

I've seen the lads 15 times in the last 14 years, they have never failed to impress, unfortunately an hour and a half at Glastonbury didn't do them justice, the best set of the weekend, again!!!
Jon, Leeds

Orbital have provided wicked tunes over the last 15 years and it leaves me totally puzzled as to why they chose those specific tracks for Glastonbury. I mean this set was almost identical to previous sets I've heard them play. Guys you had a chance to go out with a bang and you went out with a small pop !!
Ali C, Manchester

Saw Orbital at Glastonbury in 94 and again on Sunday night, this time with my 9 year old son and 3 year daughter. She sat on my shoulders and danced for the whole of the set!!Glastonbury will never be the same, PLEASE come back next year, my daughter loves you!!!
Dawn C, Northants

you were the greatest band in the world. orbital have helped me in dark times and perfected my good times. to see them live was a privilige i'll treasure.
paul leiceter

Around me in the crowd i saw people crying! Absolutly mind blowing! The breaks drop on the docter who theam!!! Orbital for ever Whens the DVD coming out?
Tom Harding, Southampon

why did they wear those stupid head lights, do they think think they're borgs from star trek
kevin grumett, buxton

What a great loss to the orbital experiennce. Seen them a few times, Always left everyone wanting more, and lived to that rule right to the end. Laters
Karl Chester

What a storming end of an era, and the mix of the Darkness with Belinda Carlisle was cracking. Sod the crappy mud and blisters I had by 10:30 on Sunday, the brothers had us all jumping regardless. Shame about the BBC (lack of) coverage but glad for the results of me camcorder....
Robin - Epsom

Saw them at moles, even the guy on the apologised for how bad they were. And he wasn't wrong.
Paul, Bath

orbital were so good at glastonbury, loved every second of every song! an they played all their best songs.
Nick Essex

Have to say that Orbital were by far the best act at Glasto this weekend ... and the best I've seen for the last 4 Glasto's (which in no way demeans the likes of Radiohead and Bowie). Core uplifting and AwEsoMe. Never seen them live before, and seldom play any of the 3 albums I have of their's, but they blew me away, despite the the fact the only track I was sure of was Dr Who. And what an atmosphere ... and this from a 48 year old fossil. Thanks to Emma, Jenny, Nanc and Steve for letting me share it with you. So when do we see the DVD of the set BBC ??? :)
Frank, Burford

Bought one of the first pressings of Chime from Paul back in 89(?) Still remember the goosebumps from seeing them play it on TOTP. Sorry to miss the last shows - I guess it's time but will miss 'em
MIkeP London

What a great night, have never seen so many people dancing at the other stage, it was practically the entire field, and, even when they messed up the beginning of impact, the whole field still cheered them on! Sixth time I have seen them, and am very sad to see them go, thank you Phil and Paul, even if you did do the Saint!
Michael, Southsea

what a set never seen them but b4 best thing at glasto for me..except seeing a wedding conducted by an elvis lookalike high on ketamine
julian Guildford

orbital, brighton 1998 live. they moved my clothes "literally"
frank. e. sussex

i have followed orbital since 1989, its sad about the split but judging by the last cd its about time!
francis palmer. rye east sussex

Gutted they didn't play 'little fluffy clouds'....sorry bad gag, twas probably the best thing that i saw all weekend, satan had to be the highlight of the set, either that or the bunny boiler stood next to me.... Barrett....Scone
Barrett, South Wales

orbital were amazing, i managed to get right down the front and do some bubble terrorism with my bubble gun, so many bubbles... their set was amazing, chime and satan were both boss!
mike the orange fairy, wirral

What more could an act want than to leave their audience on their last ever gig crying for more. Unbelievable.
Joni Shilland, Edinburgh

bloomin marvelous.. couldnt help dancing my sox off to it! wer can i get ther album from...?
Liz Day, Bournemouth

once again the brothers excelled themselves. without a doubt the best festival band, and one of the greatest live acts ever. having seen them so many times this performance was defietly my favourite. all the classics were in there full on live glory. the hartnoll boys will be sorley missed.
Pete surrey

Just recovered from Glast, Orbital were the on top of every other set! The best gig I have ever been to, so much energy, thought I wouls explode. Have to say, it was also the crowd that helped make it - good work - and hats off to the person who brought the blow up darlek. There better be a DVD released to re live it!
Big Al, Oxford

Boys you will be missed. I cannot say any more. Thanks for everything you have done.
joe - ipswich

IT was good but not great. I've seen Orbital do better. Bit of a greatest hits album and they just pressed play.
Ollie Glasto

I saw them at glastonbury and it was amazing. I feel sorry for anyone who wasn't there - the atmosphere was perfect, with the sun setting and flares going off in the crowd.. I just wish I could do it again!
Graham, Southampton

This is awful - I can't believe they are calling it a day. i remember blissing to 'Chime' in the Haç, seeing them live lots of times - Megadog(s) ? They will be missed - now where can I get that final set from Glastonbury - I only saw it on TV but it sounded great. :)
Steve Matthews - Manchester

They are playing at Oxyegen??? says who??
pno, Cardiff

I still can't beleive that that's it. One of the most inspiring acts of the last 20 years are calling it a day. Man, their performance at Glasty was one of the best I've ever seen them give. They seemes so up for it. The mud couldn't stop me dancing! When they played Lush I just kept on thinking back to Glasty 10 years ago. "Shot through the heart and you're to blame. You give love a bad name" "Ooh Baby do you know whats that's worth. Ooh Heavan is a place on Earth." Exactly.
Rob, South Shields

moved hell and high water to get to Brixton on Fri (thanx Gez) Travelled from Devon and spent ****loads of money i dont have. The reward was the most mind-blowing set I've seen them do and we were absolutely speechless for hours after. the smile is still on my face and now I feel i can live the rest of my life with it there. i also have my tattoos to keep me company and my CDs as a constant reminder of their best gig. Keep on going you old geezers! (Im 49 2moro!!!)
Slie

Absolutely fantastic. Who else could manager to play Heaven is a Place on Earth by Belinda Carlisle and I Believe in a Thing Called Love by The Darkness simultaneously. They will be missed.
Tim, London

Well, this is it! I have seen their choonz from Dr who to The Box and the absolute blistering 'Chime'. This group really did change my liking to this kind of music...never really liked it until i saw Orbital at Glastonbury '99 on my telly! This really blasted off big, baby!!! Shame to see them go :-( So where is the 'Best of' CD then? ...And a DVD? You know you have to, boys!!! Keep it big! Us fanzz are wantin it big! Put the hooj choonz on there and watch it race to number one!! Thanxx.
Wayne, Waterlooville, Portsmouth.

I was at Glastonbury in '94, and like so many other people's comments above, it pretty much changed my life, like Joy Division did in the 80's! I also saw them at The Royal Albert Hall on the Insides tour. The 1st Techno band the play The 'all!! That was also a memorable one for me. Also Somerset House was FAB! ...and yes I was there on Friday in Brixton. Strange feeling, mixture of pure joy and sadness. Yes even a fully grown man like me shed a tear. :'-( This really is the end of an era! Shame many true Orbital fans couldn't get to Glastonbury. I just hope a few Muse fans may have been converted at the last moment. ;-) P & P a big THANK YOU for 15 years of fantastic music. I'm sure like most Orbital fans, we wish you all the best for the future.
Kirk, Southend, Essex

yeah orbital ripped it apart, brilliant set, what a way to end the best weekend of the year, mud'n all!!!!
tim. croydon

Well done boys, you blew everyone away last night at Glastonbury! Halcyon was the highlight fused with The Darkness, Belinda Carlisle & Bon Jovi, it could never have been better - thanks for the best gigs in the last 12 years!
Kirsty, Bath

only seen orbital once and they rock big time going to definiteley going to buy there new album for sure excellent stuff boys keep on rocking?
darren stephens weston southampton

Well what can i say! Orbital blew me away at glasonbury this year, playing the best set i have ever seen them play! i have been to see them 7 times in the past 6 years and i must say they saved the best untill last. I am not sure i am quite ready to let them go yet as i have grown up with them, so i am finding it hard to believe i will not see them ever again. lets hope they know just how much they have shaped the development of music today, and reached such a wide audience of devoted fans all over the world. ORBITAL FOREVER! i will never forget.
Pippa, West Sussex.

Thanks for all the happy memories. See you at Oxygen and maybe in Almeria!
Sid, Otford

saw them at glasto yesterday, what a brilliant band, seen them lots of times and they never fail to impress! they will be sorely missed...
gus cammish, manchester

if i'd have know that glasto 2004 was there last gig i would have taken an oxyocetaline tourch to the glasto fence to see them...man they have to bring out orbital at EVERY glasto they did on DVD...i agree sack the student who had that camera on BBC 04 coverage...i mean just cos tha man was smokin a josh stick dont mean you have to blur his face! ffs
Weedfreer Grimsby

Awesome! Satan and the Dr Who track have left new standards. Cheers for the good times!
Ryan Preece Abertillery Gwent

Saw them at Megadog 93, along with system 7, the drum club, eat static and the sensor sound system etc - totally hooked since, cant wait for the come back :)
ste - chester

Saw them at Brixton on FRiday and they threw it down, excellant gig, wathced them on the TV Sunday night too, they Rock, a sad farewell :)~~~
William, London

Sound a bit dated nowadays
J London

rockin act. glastonbury will not be the same next year with out them.:-(
James Porter Hayes

Saw them at Brixton on Friday for the third time. Absolutely blinding is all I can say. Music and visuals were amazing and they (particularly Phil!) appeared to be having the time of their lives. Will remember this one for ever!
Splash, Notts

i am soo proud to hear all your comments on orbital... they did not change my life! but they introduced me to other music... they was awsome in 94.. it was like seeing pink floyd for the first time for the hippy generation,or throbbing gristle at the lyceum... or hearing the scissor sisters for the first time what i am trying to say is that even tho we have seen a landmark in music (and it's demise) we will hear better music from better artists fror years to come.. and orbital has been part of that plan.
hollis

Never heard of them before but thanks to your comments and since I'm into other older electronic stuff anyway, I'll walk into town and use the spare fiver in my back pocket to get myself an album. Any ideas which one?
Oliver, Bournemouth

the absolute best show i have ever seen was orbital in orlando '99-there wont be anyone to compare with the hartnoll brothers
candice-florida

Thought the coverage this year was poor - BBC2 and BBC3 showed the same big name acts - surely some of the more interesting smaller stuff could have been shown?
fiona Bristol

Superb set last night in Glasto. Despite the mud, the boys played a cracking set, lifting the house with Dr Who and an amazing finale track. They moved the whole area around the Other Stage!
Damian in Brum

Why are they going, will miss them think their good still though
Brad Tidman, Southampton

Saw the live set last night online. Stunning. Wish I was there! If this doesn't come out on DVD, it will be criminal! BBC, give them the broadcast rights! Last gig ever, which is a shame; they will be missed. Best dance/electronic band ever!
Michael O., Norwich

Just got back from glasto, fantastic weekend, and orbital were outstanding.
james dodd, portsmouth

I watched on-line. And i thought the gig was kinda average. I especially disliked the fact that they played with long pauses in between the songs. I can remember that when i saw them performing live a couple of years ago, they interwoven all the tracks in one big long vibe...
Richard Roling Netherlands

Saw them at Brixton on Thursday and watched the entire online stream full-screen last night -- couldn't sleep for 2 hours afterwards! Sad that they are splitting up, but then, how would you feel about working with your brother for 15 years? :-)
David James, Cambridge

Orbital, Glastonbury, BBC3 Sunday 27th June 2004..... OH MY GOD! I dont think i could have handled it being there, my head almost exploded just watching the telly! Brilliant! Cheers brothers Hartnoll!
Big Fan, London

I've seen Orbital live a few times (including in the rain at Somerset House and Glasto)- they are quite frankly brilliant and I will miss seeing them live. They have been a huge part of my life, (having been a teenager in the 90's) and I will always listen to their wicked, ground-breaking music. Cheers boys! You the daddy!
James North London

Missed Orbital this year after seeing them tear Glast apart in previous years, GUTTED. Orbital will be sadly missed.
pno, Cardiff

Absolutely speechless that Beeb cut away from the opening of Orbital's set to show an interminable Muse set, then cut back for a few minutes as the band began Chime, only to then cut coverage back from BBC3 to BBC2 and Phil ruddy Jupitus at the jazz tent - and where was the rest of Chime..? Obviously, the closing chapters of Orbital's career were worth so much less than the endless coverage of Paul McCartney. Also, were the shaky visuals' resemblance to 24/ Alias anything to do with the Hartnolls' career change..? Had they specifically requested that they remained anonymous - we should be told.
K, London

saw them at Brixton on Friday. Bit of a let down to be honest. Seen them 3 times before and this seemed to be like just any other gig. Shame.
b bristol

'farewell concert'? Aren't they playing at Oxegen 2004? They bloody better be!
Conor, Ireland

Unbelievable farewell Glasto gig - more or less lost for words but still have a big smile on my face almost 8 hours after. you'll be missed boys.
James, Brixton , London

What a way to go out, with the same tune you started with! No more new stuff, but they have left some gems for us to remember them by. Its a lovely story for them and I wish them all the best. M@
iMatt, London

just watched ie stream of orbital at glastonbury - absolutely mental, unfortunately couldnt be there but not to worry, stormin set, excellent.
stuart

Orbital looked ace at Glasto on the telly, can't wait for T in the Park!
Ian, Dundee

Saw them at glasto in 94... absolutely stunning performance.. just watched their final performance via this site and they brought me to tears... beautiful work boys.. you will be sorely missed..
Mark, Nassau, Bahamas

Arrrrgggghhhhh Orbital, wiped evryone else off, they will be sorely missed. just watched it over the net, can't get better, dunno if I am going to be able to sleep tonight.
Chris France

Wow, just watched on line, oh to be there would have been unbelieveable. Amazing and a fond fond farewell to the brothers. This HAS to come out on DVD. I shed a tear, a defining act - ORBITAL, we love you too.
Stewart (Stoke)

We'll miss you boys
Jim, London

GUTTED that this is the end! Just watched glasto set online - amazing - even better than Friday at Brixton. So many good memories!
Sloth, Balham

What have you done BBC? Chime at the end of the encore was to be the last ever track and you cut away from BBC3 to BBC2 as it was beginning and played a pre-recorded track. Madness.
Adrian, Tooting

Orbital... Brilliant. But why didn't the BBc let us SEE them as well as hear them? Loads of out of focus shots, repeated video loops of sections of the gig which took away the 'live' feel of it. Why not just let us see the guys at work. I know they look like aliens with the light specs if you pull the focus... but once or twice will do. Felt like I should have been on the illegal stuff you really don't want me to be on just to dig this one.
BoC UK

I am sure that Orbital have spent many years honing the art that is their stage presence only for it to be destroyed by some jerk with the repeat and blur button throughout the performance on bbc three. Why not get that useless student off the production desk and just let us enjoy their spectacle.
JHR

I saw them in Brixton on Thursday after the atch - and unforetunately the performance was as flat as Englands! They came on late and left early!! Regardless they are a class act and the gig tonight proves it. They will be missed by millions of us.
Paul London

Good Riddance! There's nothing more embarrasing than ageing dance music artists. Time to get that bricklaying job back Phil!
Steve

Gutted i couldnt see them at Glasto, but went to Brixton on Thursday and gave Phil a big hug! This is the death of techno.
duncan, london

Orbital was the first dance-act to get my attention. I love them because its more about the melody and composition than just plain beats. I saw them at the Lowlands Festival in Holland in 99. That was suberb, danced all the way through and got shivers all over! One of my fav live concerts, and that's very special for 'button-twisters'.
Richard Roling from Capelle, Netherlands

I can only say that I am extremly envious of all of you going to the show. I'll have to watch it on the choppy video stream.
Texas

The Greatest, what more is their to say. They defined Dance/Techno, as a true and skilled discipline of music. I've seen them many times and gutted I can't be there tonight. You Lucky, Lucky People.
Marky B, Preston

Well what can I say? I am one of those people who have seen them live and they are one of the few performances I have seen that has brought a tear to my eye. Their music can be rockin' as well as downright moving..I'll be waiting for a "best of.." album. Farewell
Hana, Bristol

Saw em thurs an Fri @ Brixton wonderful emotional performance been a fan for years and wish there was more. Can't wait to watch glasto 2nite just wish they were on the main stage for thier swansong last performance in england ! for more info check www.loopz.co.uk
MaTTrix Corsham

I watched this lot in Brixton on Friday. Quality. The Box blew my socks off!!
Dave

They brought the Millenium in at Cream at the Pier Head in Liverpool. Hearing chimes at midnight gave me goosebumps. Easily the best live band around. I'll miss ya guys
Kev, Wirral

xcelent more lov u
sunelov

ORBITAL - nuff said - final performance at T in the Park to rock the Jocks.
Jock Straw

I never had the chance to see Orbital live despite being a massive fan for the past 15 years. "Chime" is one of the best singles of all-time, still one of my favourites. Will be watching out for them on BBC2 this weekend at Glastonbury. Orbital RIP...
Winston MC, London

No glasto for me.No orbital. They will rock.Saw them on the midlle of nowhere tour.never was the same again.
alistair,Rugby

I have seen them about 7 times now... including last night at Brixton... Sorry to say though that last night was easily the worst performance i have ever seen from them - the visuals were particularly poor and the tracks they performed had less impact (apart from Impact - The Earth Is Burning) because they tried to squeeze so much in... there wasn't enough development. You lot are going to cain me for this!!
rob - london

the world will be a quieter place without them. by far the best act ever at glasto
jon, bedford

I saw Orbital at Alexander Palace in '96 or '97 (memory's a bit dodgy). One of the best sets i've seen. Gutted i'm missing out on Glastonbury this year, especially their gig. I'll be listening to Radio one over the internet (the taiwanese people have no idea....)
Steph, Taiwan

I've never had the chane to see them and since i live in Canada i'll never have the chance. Massive disappointment.
Edward

Saw them at glasto '94. Best live gig i've ever been to. SOOOOOOO many people and the vibe was unbelievable. really sad to see they're splitting, and gutted i can't get to any live performances. After being a devoted fan for 15 years, i'm really going to miss them.
John, Aberdeen

Last night in London was beautiful. I cried and smiled for 2 hours whilst dancing my little socks off. When I looked around me I was not alone. We were so happy to be together with the brothers, so sad to be losing them. However, not one person didn't get the grandeur of the occassion, all dancing, all jumping, all perfect... gotta love 'em.
Justin, London

Better to go out in a bang than to fade away. Saw them at Brixton last night and they were awesome as usual. I too saw the glasto 2001 set with the fireworks and floats... it was the first time I'd heard Dr Who and made Glasto for me that year, that and getting greenpeace to 'dispose' of my mates undies.
Malc, down a hole in the dark with an owl

Orbital is the greatest band the genre has ever seen. It's very sad to see them go, but it's very fitting to do it in this way. They are pure class.
DNova Ft Lauderdale USA

I first saw Orbital at Oscillate in Birmingham in 1994 at the time of the brown album. It was a fantastic gig, not least because they coped admirably with a power cut part way through their set. I was hooked on them since then and have seen them many times since. I feel kinda sad that I wont get the chance to see any of their final gigs as I am now on the other side of the pond, but perhaps I will have chance to tune in and see/hear them over the internet... Amazing........
bryn - phoenix Arizona

ive begged stole and borrowed my way to glasto this year just so i can see this momentus event in history there'll be a lump in my throat and ringing in my ears thankyou THE Orbital!!!
goose at work

I've only seen them once('99 in Philly), but it was an amazingly beautiful show, which I left resonating that happy transcendant electric vibe that the brothers are all about. Shame I can't catch one of their final shows, but I'll definitely listen to the Glasto show. Been a fan since '95 and they are one of the major reasons why I'm into electronic music. Thanks a lot gentlemen!
Brion,Philadelphia

These boys rule! Worth going to Glasto even if all the other bands sucked. If you haven't seen them live - do it NOW before it's too late, and if you have seen their live set you're probably as gutted as I am that they're hanging up their torches. Oh well, thanks guys (especially for that wicked evening at Glasto 94). And how about a tour of New Zealand before you go??
Matt, Mount Cook-NZ

One of them has cancelled... does anyone know why? I know this through 1st hand and they have also been taken off the listings
Jo, Bath

i'm gutted - i've followed them from the start back in the 80's - They were also my favorite album whilst driving across Australia. Can't wait to hear impact on the last ever GIG :s
Mikey G

First saw the Brothers Hartnoll for their now legendary set at Glasto '94 and i've seen every performance at Worthy Farm since then You just won't believe how absolutely gutted i am to miss their final Glasto-show!! For those of you who've seen 'em b4, you know it's gonna be spesh, for those who haven't... where the hell have you been!?!?!!
Funkmunky Southampton

Was it fate or pure Orbital magic that saw a giant fluorescent boat float past and a huge fireworks display take place bang in the middle of the Orbital set in 2001?? I will never forget that moment!
Scof, Bristol

Orbital are a grounbreaking act and the first time I saw them live was at Glasters in 95 I think but hey it was a blurry part of my life but what a show, the brothers Hartnell are something else....
Mike H Redondo Beach CA

i missed my school prom to go and see them at the albert hall. we sat right at the top of the hall and it was amazing. i hav seen them loads of other times, and they have been incredible. But that 1st time as with many things was the best. they will be sorly missed.
pete surrey

I can't make Glasto but will catch them at Brixton Academy. If you're lucky enough to be at Worthy Farm, go see 'em. You won't regret it...
Matt Essex

Saw the boys Hartnoll at The Royal Albert Hall and I still can't find my socks, but i'm sure this one is going to be the one to remember! Cheers for the good times fellas!!
Paul Brighton

zoidberg is sad, why not ? these squishy land mamals you call "hartnols" have a lot to explain. personaly i think they will be picked up by thier mothership and fly away at the end of what will be a memorable set, i appologise in advance to all for my behaviour. kiss kiss
zoidberg

I echo the other comments - Glasto 94' saw my record collection radically change. The new album's a cracker - check out You lot - and I for one can't wait
Ian Bristol

i first herad orbital when sitting in my mates house in 92 (brown album) and have been a fan since. bring it on lads. please, although its gonna be hard make it better than 2 years ago. the hartnolls for knighthoods (services to glastonbury)and when they belfast ..........................................thankyou
big rodge

Without doubt one of the most awesome live dance experiences you will ever see. Surley an extended version of Belfast to finish on??
Jon Brighton

The finest live electronic act on the planet, bar none. They'll be sadly missed after this final UK gig, so I'll be down the front
Hektor, Middlesbrough

What a way to bow out! Sad to see this is their last gig ever. Expect a few suprises on the night, though I don't think Ms Goldfrapp will be assisting. Respected by those in and out of the industry, this will be a talking point for years to come. Chants of 'Harry Hartnoll' will be louder than ever!
Pauly from Sevenoaks

How anybody can justify going and seeing anything other than Orbital's grand finale on Sunday night is beyond me. It's going to be a 'tell the grandkids' kind of occasion!
John, Manchester

Since it is possibly thier last UK live performance, I think it will blow your socks off as they have done so well to me over the years!
Tom, London.

We were there when Orbital played the other stage in 94. Mind - boglingly awesome. When it was over I was different, my friends were different and within the next month my entire CD collection was completely different as well. I'm trapped on the other side of the planet (NZ) and can't be there to see them close the festival. You lucky people who are going, enjoy. JD
