Band members may come and go with increasing regularity, but Oasis will always be around as long as the Gallagher Brothers can stick together.
In the face of diminishing returns for their albums, Oasis' tabloid-friendly lives have become as important as their music. But remember, rock's number 1 soap opera were originally famous for one reason: great music.

Combining the swagger and grit of the Sex Pistols with the classic pop sound of the Beatles not only single-handedly revived the flagging fortunes of guitar-based rock, but also made them one of history's biggest bands with second album 'What's The Story (Morning Glory)' becoming the second fastest-selling album ever!

What's more, these mouthy Mancunians began their Glasto career way back in 1994 and by '95 they were headlining - spending the entire weekend being sweary and cool with celebrity hangers-on like Robbie Williams and Evan Dando. Top, sorted etc ...
Oasis facts

  • Nelly Furtado was an early fan who used to write letters to Liam Gallagher!
  • At the band's first appearance at Glasto Liam asked the crowd "Are you gonna wake up, then, for some real songs?"
  • Robbie Williams actually joined the band onstage in 1995
  • Liam on his career so far: "I'm the best singer in the world and I'm in the biggest band in the Universe."

Oasis rocked man, a well awated come back from them, and the my generation cover was aamzing
Stuey G, Sunderland

They were better when they had that bald bloke in the band.
Bonehead, Dole queue

Two good albums 10+ years ago and thats it. Never rated them live - average geezer pub band. Liam looks an idiot staring into the crowd looking 'hard'....now the Who were a great live act....
Carl - Sutton Coldfield

Loved Oasis like mad! when I was young! they don't half not do much now!!, even Noel said himself, why be inventive and creative when writting his songs when he doesn't need to, over 10 years in the game you'd think the music would have moved in other directions!! Still rock but and still go and see them, amazing live! but purely for nostalgic reasons. Good to see other bands coming through the wood work, starting to push this plastic pop R'n'B crap to one side, again I do love my rap and R'n'B 2, 2pac, snoop, Dre, Jay-Z etc equally as good if not better, but isn't there some shiv in the charts. Bring on the good old guitar bands! Snowpatrol, SFA, Franz, etc There is hope and more to come I thinks
B. x .Dunfermline

I thought Oasis were possibly one of the dullest bands at Glasto, but looking at all the resonses on here it shows how good they really were at one point.
Steve, Wakefield

Out Of This World. Nuff Said
Dan, North Somerset

I can't believe people are slagging Oasis off for they're performence at glastonbury... Ok, it wasnt they're best, but they are hardly going to totally reclaim the glory they had at they're peak. For me the best Gig of all time is Wembley 2000, when they returned form they're world tour, which was recorded on the released live CD Familliar To Millions. But at the end of the day, i watched glastonbury with high hopes, as i am a massive Oasis fan, and i thought it was great, and i enjoyed it, and they are the best band in the world today. And everytime i listen to dont look back in anger live, i still get a chill down my spine. I hope Oasis's Music Lives Forever \m/ ROCK ON!
Dan, Bristol

It's official: Oasis have diappeared up their own arses. Pretentious, self obsessed and PURE CRAP! They used to be good!
Sinead, N. Ireland

All you twits having a pop at oasis should get a grip. oasis where the biggest band on the planet at one point. Bands like the sex pistols and the stone roses only released a couple of albums and look at the respect they command, that’s because their brilliant bands but also because they didn’t stick around long enough for morons to pick them to bits. If oasis had split after their first two albums all you tattie pickers would be singing a different tune. To be a huge band you have to have a huge image as well as a huge sound, and they do. If you like oasis then their arrogance, unique image, and complete intolerance for cheesy ******* (R.W.) is part of the attraction, if you don’t like it or don’t get it then **** off and listen to the light house family. Do you not think that if you had been a part of something as huge as oasis then you would have something to be arrogant about to? So if you are one of these people who has plenty to say but none of it good, you need to give them the respect they deserve. They are the biggest band to come out of the UK since the Beatles, and they will live forever weather you like it or not. (i need to be my self I cant be no one else) think about it
G.E. Doog, Shetland

All the people on here who are complaining bout laims abuse to the fans you are so pathictic. Its oasis's style to do that sort of stuff they are asume no body has the right to slag them of they have had 7 albmus over ten yours that is pretty good. OASIS ROCK!!
Jamez , Levey green

oasis r the best band eva they were the best hi jamez and tim lol
Cleo st.albans

that was a champagne supernova act from the burnage boiz. They rocked the stage and long live the best band the world has ever seen. andy
Andy Fyffe 10mins 1/2hour from glastonbury.

SHINNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEE!Oasis were by far the proper bo band of the whole event! BOOYAKASHA!;)
Tim, Jamez's house

I didnt get to see Oasis perform at Glasto but they still rock!!! and always will!!!
Jo, Bham

I am a massive Oasis fan and I think I am very lucky I went to the poole gig just before glastonbury, because of what i saw on BBC3 liam was trying to shout not sing and it didnt sound too good. As Poole was such a small venue he was singing properly and it was one of the best gigs ive ever been to.
Jon, Swindon

Oasis kick ass they are with out a doubt the best band of all time. There music kick ass. I hope they keep making good music for life!
Jamez, levey green

Ok what is all this talk about oasis being crap. I was 3 rows from the front and they where absolutly amazing. Big up for the manchester lads. They did play very comersial songs but thats what they have to do at glastonbury, coz u aint paying to see one band in particular. Noel was a complete LEGEND as usual and all his songs went down really well. I think columbia sounded the best live but my generation rocked. The new songs sounded great, cant wait for the new album and Don't stop the clocks which is out in July!!!!! They sould be touring soon. I will be there. OASIS THE GODS OF THE ONLY BRITISH ART FORM ROCK'N'ROLL!!!!!!
Amy Hampson ( Manchester )

I was there and they sounded pretty weak. They looked like they couldn't be arsed and Liam was flat most of the time. They have very little to be arrogant about these days.
Tim, Hitchin

they were awesome. one of the highlights of the festival.
reggie from cromer

I left to go see see Chemical Brothers after 20 minutes. I dont really get the leering looks and verbal abuse that Liam likes to give his adoring fans. The Killers, Kings of Leon and Snowpatrol were all miles better. Arrogant and overated.
Iain, Manchester

Oasis were the best band there by far. Their new stuff was class, I don't know why people think it's cool not to like them.
John, Manchester

Go to that link I posted here earlier if you want to hear the new stuff! You'll never get anything from the BBC, its under somehting that looks like audio glastonbury or something like that, they sound fantastic! I'm still waiting to see them though cos I had to get my gran to tape it as our vcr died...Grr.
El Kurto

They were dreadful. Worst performance at glasto
nick, Canary Wharf

Our Liam was f***in crap - I shoud ask that guy from nowaysis to Join - at least he can sing!!!!!
noel london

Noel Gallagher showed absolutely no respect for the Glastonbury crowd. He came on expecting to be worshipped and revered....and I am embarrased I was in the crowd witnessing such a display of utter self-adoration. Noel's performance partuicularly lacked any star quality for the sole reason that he was trying so hard to have it. I believe Oasis' reign over 'Brit pop' is well and truly over with their Glastonbury 2004 performance. They can now get down from their high horses and maybe put some of their energy into making some good music instead of using it all to be arrogant and pretentious.
Smel, Weston-Super-Mare

What a disappointment with all these high expectations you would think they might have smiled. Biggest anti climax in Glastonbury's history. If they want to be compared to the beatles they should become a bit more professional.
Tim, London

didnt get glasto tickets purely gutted by the fact as i wanted to see half the acts there!anyway i watched them live on tv and amazing isn't the world all the classics which people want to hear&a few new songs what more could you want from them the crowd seemed to be enjoyin it!my generation pure brilliance!
me,coventry

OASIS ROCK
Eoghan - Belfast

oasis was rubbish and boring
robyn bradford

I discovered Oasis this year at the age of 14. Since then I love them they are amazing, they play music like no other. The Gallagher bro are unique. Noel is the mind while Liam is the strument. Together they create something incredible. I hope to see them very soon in Italy...
CJ, Rome Italy

Liam best front man of the 90's. Have a look at that Glastonbury performance-amazing!As Liam said in Oasis 1994 Glastonbury gig, "Are you ready to hear some decent songs?" Cant wait for the sixth studio album. A rejuvenated Oasis with The Who's amazing stand in drummer Zak along with the Gallaghers and Gem and Andy. Live Forever
Peter - Northern Ireland

Come on BBC, we pay your wages. How much effort would it take to put the feed online? Its obvious it'd be very popular and will give the critics a sceond look, as I think Oasis have written some of the best songs in the history of rock music
Lee, Marlborough

Oasis rocked the nobs off Glastonbury on friday. Nice to see Bring It On Down make a live return. They may not be the biggest band in the world, but there still the best. Bring on the new album! Keep the faith... Oh ye, and the BBC were proper harsh on us madferrit fans by not showing any new songs. P**sed me off a bit did that!
Martyn, Selby

oasis are the best band ever. I was lucky enough to see them at the lighthouse in poole and queued for four hours outside on the night to get to the front. I got crushed to death and nearly lost my glasses but it was so worth it. all you people who are writing bad stuff about oasis should not bother because your comments aren't gonna change my mind so you are wasting your time. i thought the sound enjineer at glastonbury needs shooting as nobody could hear noel singing.sort it out mate! can't wait for the new album rock on and live forever
Claire R , Bournemouth

How good was Starkey! Oasis need him to join full time.
Ryan, Nottingham

having read the reviews i can't belive it. oasis and poor don't go in the same sentance. still got it and they are the best band in the world, without them there would be no cool britania, rock on and LIVE FOREVER
phil, Epsom

So what they weren't leaping all over the place? So what they weren't talking a load of old bollocks all the time, the most important thing is the sound not the image, someone should explain this to the BBC! And from what I heard they sounded great, Liam sounded far better than I expected and the drummer could drum! Thank God McCartney didn't turn up the old codger! Truth is Oasis were excellent, during Champagne Supernova I reached the highest point of euphoria, it was amazing! Just annoying the BBC only showed 4 songs on 2! Idiots, I did find the whole set though on the wonderous internet..http://www.oasisnews.blogger.com.br/ go and enjoy! And so bloody what they only played old songs, they don't have any new stuff out to play that! THINK YOU NUMBSKULLS!
El Kurto

Oasis are, and always have been, an awful, turgid, workmanlike pub band. The only people who like them are the sort of "music fans" whose collections also contain the eqaully dreadful Sterohonics. Music then for those who either don't like music or know nothing about it.
Mat - Putney

The greatest live band of all time!
Magicpie,Essex

I thought the Oasis performance at Glasto was really bland. It's about time they started moving forward with their music. Perhaps if Liam put as much effort into his music as he does trying to act cool.. they'd sound semi decent!
Lucy, London

Still rock, can still perform & old classics still the best........bring it on!
Ash, Birmingham

i got the boot from glaston and there is no words to describe how foking amazing sounds.
Ivan, Mexico

oasis a glasto woz average jus wot u would expect from a bunch of past it drunks wot a discrace they are
moz london

Good, but not as good as Poole, sorry people, you missed out, but then that wasn't as good as Sherperd's Bush either!!
Paul Weller

Oasis are back, though they were going down hill after Heathen Chemistry, on Friday they prooved their still the greatest band in the world, no one comes close. Lets hope the next year will be as good as 95. Re-release Some Might Say and the people of Britain will see the god that is Liam is back. We're gona live forever. Manchester yer mad fer it.
Max, Halifax

Great Performance, best so far!!!
Ahmed, India

Oasis were quality at glasto on Friday, who gives a flying pork pie if Noel and Liam aren't on best terms, when have they ever been. Bottom line is the music was class, and the crowd loved it (or at least the ones who aren't old farts), Oasis = invincible!
Tom, shropshire

Just reading some of these reviews has really made me laugh. How can you describe that performance "lacklustre." They are still the best band in the world and totally rocked Glastonbury to it's bare foundations. Noel Gallagher is a genius and although Liam's voice aint what it used to be it's still pretty good. Can't wait for the new album, and although it will be compared to D.M and WTSMG it will totally rock.
George , Kent

I only caught the last 2 songs of the gig on BBC 2 and they were great! can anyone list here all the songs that were played or give me a link to them? because i can't find it anywhere.... cheers.
matt, chester

They re very great band, whit the rock that they perform.
Victor , Mexico

I don´t care the &/%& comments of the BBC, I think that Oasis is the best band of the world, and i now that many people in all around the world think the same about them... Oasis is better than blur!oasis please come to mexico!!! I think the same of you Lautaro we want to see them in DirectTV!!! CHEERS!
Carolina - México

oasis will be the best band in all over the world...live forever!!!!
gonzalo, montevideo, uruguay

Oasis Rule and songs such as 'Dont Look Back in Anger' and 'Wonderwall' will go down in history
Laurie, Kent

Oasis & rock ´n´ roll gonna live forever man !!!
Gaston, Argentina

Liam was depressingly flat and Noel was bored. They took their money and ran. A real shame.
Gaz in Nottingham

Oasis - sad has-beens desperately trying to revive their flagging sales. Dreary, lacklustre performance of dreary, derivative rifts. The only act likely to be worse is Sir Paul McCartney.
Hugh G. Essex

Oasis were terrible, Liam's voice has well gone, noel is a fat git too endulgent in crap guitar riffs/licks. the drummer can't do anything i can't do and the overall sound was poo!!!!
Mcartney

oasis were amazing last nite bring on the album
G, Middlesbrough

WOW! OASIS WERE AMAZING. I WATCHED THEM LIVE LAST NIGHT IN THE COMFORT OF MY LIVING ROOM. THEY MADE GLASTONBURY COME ALIVE..BRING THEM BACK.(LIVE FOREVER OASIS)
Louise, Liverpool

Oasis are crap - their song writing and music is boring and dull. Anyone who thinks they are one of the best brit bands are deluded.
ade london

THE BOYS COULD WALK ON STAGE AND NOT EVEN PICK UP ANY INSTRUMENTS AND STILL BE THE BEST ROCK N ROLL BAND EVER. GOOD GIG BOYS, HOW GOOD IS ZAK! ALAN WHITE WOULD BE PROUD OF HIS REPLACEMENT.
andy fielding

Last night was awesome, the band is at its best, Liam's voice is amazing!! And Zak is so much better than in Poole =D
Isa, SP - Brazil

They were Crap!!!
Claire - Wales

I was gutted when I missed out on tickets... Then they announced the line-up and I was glad I hadn't wasted my money! Oasis are taking over where Status Quo left off, playing the same stale songs to the same stale fans. Glasto this year will be a wash-out after last year's classic. I'll go next year!
D, the real world

How deluded must Liam Gallagher be if he thinks he's the best singer in the world. Anyone who thinks that Oasis are the UK's best ever band, have never heard of Led Zeppelin.
Dean, grimsby.

Lacklustre? I watched on a satellite feed from Mars and they rocked. Perhaps, if they were trendy wankers like The Scissor Shitters than you would be lauding them. The crowd seemed to enjoy it too....better than your crappy playlist anyway!
David Green, Mars

I was unable to see Oasis at Glasto, but did get to see them at Poole Lighthouse - and I was totally blown away, they are still the best live band around, nobody comes close......please repeat Oasis set on BBC3!!!!!
Helen

I was lucky enough to see Oasis at their warm-up gig for glasto in Poole on wednesday. It was exceptional, an amazing performance - a major improvement to the lacklustre performance I saw at the end of their last tour a couple of years back. Very harsh to call the performance "lacklustre" from what I saw of it on TV...
Mike, Cambridge

LACKLUSTRE!!??? you watch the same oasis that i did? they were brilliant
Lee, Preston

well - I was there and was bored..but its not my kinda music.. xx
Caz, Glastonbury

Always thought they were over rated anyhow.weathers pants going back down now lol
BizArrE Clutton/Bristol

Oasis were OK - covering My Generation was a work of genius and perfect for them though.
Cleo,

what a feeling when they kicked off with rock and roll star sounded brilliant ,still an awesome live band but liams vocals must improve
nige biddle redcar

what a feeling when they kicked off with rock and roll star sounded brilliant ,still an awesome live band but liams vocals must improve
nige biddle redcar

oasis r quite simply the best there was, best ther is,and best there ever will be,nuffsed
clive, doncaster

Oasis were okay. But after half an hour I got bored, went interactive and watched Spiritualized. Much better!
Steve, Darlington

¡€#¢ Oasis -- The Mozzer was AWESOME last night at the RFH. Get your arses over to him on Sunday...!
Mozfan, London

I'm not at Glasto (I wish I was) but I watched Oasis live at Glasto on BBC3. They sounded fantastic, I only wish that a) I was there, and b) they didn't have to cut out the new tracks so it was exclusive to the festival itself.
Laura, MK

PURE UNADULTERATED CRAP!!!!!!!!!
RON / GLASTONBURY

Saw the Who at the Isle of Wight festval A couple of weeks ago and Zak Starkey was on the drums for Roger and Pete...the set was awsome....Oasis were second rate on friday at glasto....My Generation can only be played by the original maestros....and Zak
Pete Isle Of Wight

Oasis are amazin, wish i was there at glasto, my mate kirsty is their!lucky b*tch! dnt u worry their next album will blow all the critics away,Oasis rock on, you are the kings of rock n roll!! Mad-fER-It!!Liam Iz GoD!
Tom W , Stockton!!

Wish I could have been there to see Oasis Give Glasto some true rock, from the best british rock act still around. loved "My Generation" zac 'Ringo' Starky is by far one of the best drummers I have heard for a long time. Keep rockin Oasis, enjoy the rest of glasto you lucky gits.
Matt, Preston

Was gutted that I couldn't get a ticket, but enjoyed the Oasis gig very much on BBC3!!
David , Sheffield

bbc what a pile of **** you talk! the gig was amazing sure they didnt dress up an dance like the bands of 2day but thats coz oasis keep it real! they did last nite amazin performance! diff is they dont have 2 prove themselves they can play any style they want bcoz ther the greatest so F*** the bbc oasis rule!
craig,liverpool

What a cr*p performance!! Is Liam still breaking in his new teeth coz he sounded awful. Pity we couldn't see more of The Chemical Brothers.
karen, n ireland

I can't believe the BBC didn't show the new songs...I was excited all evening waiting to hear them. Great to see them play Bring it On Down and Columbia again - but they need Bonehead's distorted power chords back.
Nick, Aylesbury

Thankgod the BBC's critic's comments havnt been echoed on here, oasis were awesome last night, real rock n roll, non of this busted malarky, liam gallagher personifies cool.
Dave Allen, Sunderland

Trouble with critics is that they always feel they have to be looking forward and don't value quality A quick read of the NME proves that or if you ead a review of 'Kings of Leon' Even watching on TV The lads were powerful - although whoever was in charge of balancing Noel's mic needs the sack! The Lads were brave enough to give the fans what they wanted the back catalogue.. Great start to the weekend
Chris, Cheshire

why did the bbc not show the new songs? osais rock
ash

oasis are the best rock band this country has ever had! just because they dont bounce about on stage, or dress up , or have dancers prancing about behind them dosnt make them boring your comments about the band are out of order bbc!!!!
james taylor wales

There's nothing else better than OASIS!
Gabriele, ITALY

I am sure the BBC were trying to be objective. I like Oasis but also felt it lacked the punch of other bands playing. If you are a diehard fan, they could have played like s**t and you would still say they were brill. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Whingers!!
Andy Wales

There's nothong else better than Oasis.
Gabriele, Formia, ITALY

Oasis are arrogant, overrated and trading on previous merits. Good riddance.
Paul, Cheshire

Last nite they rocked bbc, u gotta take down ur article sayin it was lackluster,Best band there and for that fact there the best band in the world by a long shot. OASIS R STILL THE BEST BAND IN THE UNIVERSE!
danny

Lacklustre?! Their performance was so powerful it was breaktaking!
Rich, Sussex

I thought they were sound. Starky on drums was superb aswell
Rob Manchester

oasis were amazing - the bbc critic needs to wake up and learn how to write about music before calling there performance "lackluster" - i thought music critics were supposed to talk about the music - just cos they didn't have fireworks and choereographed dance moves doesn't mean it was a bad performance - stick to bsuted mate
james, huddersfield

OASIS
zoe hemel

Blur were always better that Oasis
Mike, Maldon

Oasis, true rock legends without a doubt! And Liam is still an icon to everyone! It's just people won't admit it these days with crappy r'n'b plastic music floating around!
Nev, Manchester

They were BRILLIANT! Nice to see them still going, but if only the crowd were allowed to sing along...
Ridwan, Kingston

couldn't have chosen a better headlining act, wish i'd got pat that bastard fence
zoe hemel

Oasis suck. Boring dinosaur rock played by ugly *******. Has beens...
David, LA

Lacklustre no try Lustrous Live Forever Baby
Hamish Glastonbury

Liam cant sing, or prounounce M,s Utter Pants
Tony, Main stage

muted preformance really!!! i watched last night at thought aquiesce was fantastic as well as every other song we saw! what do people expect....liam to be dancing on stage!!! not going to happen one of the band of my generation without doubt defined an era and paved the way for guitar led rock and roll to be cool again, granted they have slipped away recently but lets hope the new album is a classic, because genius "lives forever"
gareth in shannon(ireland)

I love Oasis and found them a real disapointment last night they seemed to lack their in your face edge that they used to have. But Liam still looked pretty cool!!!
Lou, West Midlands

Liam sounded like Kermit the frog after 20 bensons!
Ewan, Glasgow

Thought that Mr Starkey might gee them up a bit, but it was a bit of a lame gig. Think I would have gone round and watched the Chemical Brothers.
Ian, Manchester

Poor performance last night, apart from Tho Whos, My Generation.
Martin, Brighton

can't wait to listen the new songs of the best band of the world! = OASIS!!!! we love you too in mexico... come to the azteca stadium!everybody's fool with britney's music... we hate her! we want the best rock of the world! i'm so happy!!!! good luck oasis!!! Gas Panic!

Lautaro - Argentina

bring back bonehead and alan white this is oasis reinventing them selfs but sounding the same
simon @ universe

Liam Gallagher is the best Front Man around.......Behind Morrissey. Cant wait for his slot on Sunday !
Paul Hughes. Wirral

I only saw them once, in 95 and I was very impressed. Wish I could see them on streaming video here in the States
Brian Bates, Wisconsin

Unable to watch PJ Harvey - the shots kept on switching every 2 seconds. Is the director a trainee? Just because they can change the shots all the time - it's not necessary to do it. Pathetic
J Bennett - Swansea

OASIS RULES !!!! IM MAD FERRETTT NOEL PLIS COME TO BUENOS AIRES THIS YEAR!!!! =p
ARMEN

Oh, why, the BBC don't show us the gig on the web?

bishop, london

Oasis have been finished since 1997, but they haven't been able to accept it. True losers. They had one good album in them, and they've been dining out on it ever since. A waste of time and money.
Paul, Southampton

Clint Bochum,Germany

Pass the Jelly Noel!
Hog, Reading

Oasis means British Rock n Roll at its best. They will Live Forever - bow minions.
Scott, Portsmouth

Oasis are one of the most over-rated bands to be playing this festival. their music is dull, and if you were to reverse the lineup, for this stage you would end up with a much more interesting and enjoyable concert, but then it's not about that is it, it's all about the money. And what's with all this thing about Ringo's son playing drums, are they in such desperate need of creating a buzz around them, that they need to do this sort of thing? Let's hope Paul McCartney makes an impromptu appearance on stage - that will really top it off. (Even my parents are laughing that he's playing the festival, he's been so long out of the frame in the music industry that he's just going to look like a tit)
richard - kent

Oasis suck. My Nan writes more original songs than these rip-off merchants. Thank God I'm not at Glastonbury with all those other hangers-on and wannabee festival goers. Glastonbury is a corporate suck-off and a chance for big companies to make a fast buck off sad sacks who can't see past the end of their speed-speckled noses.
Jim, London

wish i was there unfortunately ill have to make do with the radio and tele
steve dumfries

Oasis are Fab! Mr McCartney is probably very jelous because he is too old to be in Oasis, yes I like the Beatles too, but at times they had too many soppy songs. Rock on Oasis.
Alex, Scotland

Oasis are gonna put on a great show, they always do.
Katelyn , Manchester

I AM 50 AND HAVE LOVED OASIS FROM THE START HAVE ALL THERE ALBUMS AND THEY ARE ALL BRILL!!!
malcolm cardiff

I saw them in Poole the other night, the best gig I have seen them do. miles better than both Reebok Stadium gigs and even better than the Time went to see them at the Hard Rock live in Orlando which was a small venue too. I wish I had tried to get a Glasto ticket now. Gutted.
John in Bolton

i saw oasis on wednesday at the Poole lighthouse gig and they rocked, they sounded class. they are the best band of our generation. 10 years on and their still tops. wish i was at glasto to see them.
Lisa Mills, Reading

My year has been ruined by the fact I can't go to glasto because of A2 exams! All the rumours from the last couple of years proved to be nothing, and now the only year i can't go.... Oasis are playing! Sod's law! All I have got to look forward to is BBC2's coverage. Just not the same is it?
Dan Stephens, Burnham on Sea (Somerset)

I LIKE OASIS I THINK THEY ARE COOL
BEN

oasis are one of britains best ever bands. They combine the traditional english sound with the new 21st century attitude. They are one of the few bands that havent relied on a trend or fasion to sell records (the strokes). the best thing to happen to british music this year is the fact that oasis are headlining glastonbury. the god awful line up of reading has proven that the yanks are taking over....
tim, stamford

dave from Belfast- come back when your a multi-national selling artist- gud night x

I have always been a huge oasis from beeing 8 years old. ten years on and love them even more. Going to glastonbury for the first time this year. it's been 2 years since i last saw the gods of rock'n'roll in manchester. i will stay up all night to get my spot on the front row of the pyramid stage. My manchester brothers are gonna rock, oh and y are people saying that this is the worse line up in years? if all tickets sold in less than a day and i had to stay up for 14 hours to get mine i must have do it 4 a reason, ummmmm maybe to watch OASIS,MACCA,MORRISEY any many more. I have every single and album by Oasis. But when I look at the bigger picture, Oasis are really very average; Hardly the next Beatles. The first step is writing good lyrics.
John Galantini from Southampton

Would go just to see Oasis - rock my world Mr Gallagher
Helen, Wakefield

Oasis.......heaven sent!!nuff said
Carlos, Lancaster

Couldn't of booked a bigger act. Will definetly bring some surge to this years event.Oasis are original, popular, and have groundbreaking material, what more do'ya need at a music festival,so don't let negative tabloid cast a shadow over oasis's true class. peace out, and Live Forever
Herb, W Midlands

Oasis are still the best, their albums still sell more than most people, it's just that they'll never sell as many as 'Morning Glory'. Anyway i don't need to tell you how good they are, you'll all see at Glasto, when they wipe the floor with that chap who used to be in John Lennons band.
Jamie, Leicester

ha ha ha i got liams tambourine, Oasis Rock
Olly, Newcastle

Oasis saved British rock/ guitar music from the gutter in '94 and are still revelant today. I, like millions of fans around the world are proud of 'em and wish them all the best for Glasto! And yes, with nearly 50m album sales they are the ONLY rock supergroup going.
Darren Thomas

oasis are the best. nu metal?- what a joke
andy from salford

Oasis are still amazing. Liam always looks cool and in the world of today its a relief to still have them around. I would be devastated if they split. Can't wait to see them at Glasto.

Oasis are the best band ever! Rock on!
Ed

Oasis are one of the greatest bands ever. They are not finished yet as any band which still creates classics like Little by Little and Stop Crying Your Heart Out have every right to mouth off as they are the best band in the world. Anyone who claims that the Darkness are better should get their heads checked, Oasis have sold nearly 50 million albums and people go crazy as the Darkness only sell 1.2 million. WHAT A JOKE !! Oasis RULE
Kaz, Wolverhampton

This has to be the best news of the year so far. Oasis at Glastonbury ...ah! How good is THAT?!?!
Rob, Frome (Somerset)
