1993 saw golden oldie Rolf Harris perform to a Glastonbury Festival consisting of 80,000 people. Also performing were The Orb, Lenny Kravitz and the Velvet Underground. Increasingly popular, the advance tickets were sold out by mid June. More than £250,000 was raised for Greenpeace and Oxfam.

Not everyones favorite lineup but some real gems here. I recall spending lots of time at the cider bus and impromptu raves scattered about the markets. Loud anyone? How about Joe's Banana?

Rolf in his "cloud jacket", Belly, The Orb, Jamiroquai's big hats ... the chilled out tent powered by a bike selling weird tea, staying up all night and watching the dawn from the sacred space to the sound of bagpipes ... magical!

Before Verve they were "the verve" and an altogether different sounding band, was more psychadelic. They took to the stage sat afternoon and they were so beautiful and their set was so moving I actually cried.

The return of The Orb - headlining this time - confounding everyone's expectations with a low key chilled out mix up of sampled weirdness and dubby impro. Magic.

This was the first and only time we've been to Glastonbury and it was incredible. Spiritualized and The Orb were the highlights for me and does anyone remember Dr. Dig? Fond memories...
