Drumsteps
Problems?
Drumsteps is a wonderfully complex piece of technology. We'd like to say it's 100% perfect but unfortunately it's not. The good news is there are usually ways around the problems.

Here are some things we know about. If you find any other problems, or if you have suggestions to make Drumsteps better, please email us.
  • Unfortunately Drumsteps doesn't work on Apple Macs at the moment. We are aware of this problem and we're hoping to provide a fix for this as soon as possible.

  • On a small number of machines, an error appears on opening Drumsteps for the first time. This may be a dialogue box saying something like "Errors in the Movie, Shockwave is unable to continue". If this happens, don't worry, you'll still be able to use the application, and your browser will continue to work normally. All you need to do is click "OK", and then click "refresh" to load Drumsteps again. The second time round it should work with no problems.

  • These problems also occur on a few machines the first time you use the "pause" button. Again, just refresh the application and carry on.

  • If you use the pause button more than a few times when playing back a Drumsteps piece, the audio and the visuals will go out of sync.

  • In very complex Drumsteps pieces, the audio and visuals sometimes go out of sync.

  • When you're saving and sending a Drumsteps piece, your own email address will not be sent to your friend. This isn't a bug, it's deliberate, so that noone can pretend to be you by using your email address. If you want to send a piece to your friend from your own email address, send it to yourself first and then you can send it directly. We ask for your email address because we run occasional competitions and we need to be able to contact the winners.
