Biography

James Nicholas Righton (born 25 August 1983) is an English musician, who is the co-vocalist and keyboardist for the London-based new rave band Klaxons.

Righton's father, a musician, encouraged him to be a part of several bands that performed regularly during high school.

After his A level exams, he went on to study politics and Spanish at Cardiff University, after which he moved to Madrid to teach English. While there, Righton attended the Benicassim festival, where he met up with Simon Taylor-Davis (whom Righton had taught to play guitar).

Klaxons signed to Polydor Records in 2006.

Righton began dating actress Keira Knightley in late February 2011, and the couple became engaged in May 2012. They were married at a low key ceremony in Mazan in the South of France on 4 May 2013.
