Biography

Tracii Guns (born Tracy Ulrich on January 20, 1966) is an American hard rock guitarist who has played with a number of well-known rock and metal bands and solo artists over the years. Among these are Guns N' Roses, Brides of Destruction, L.A. Guns, Killing Machine.

In the mid-1980s, Axl Rose started Guns N' Roses with Tracii. Rose then recruited Izzy Stradlin, a friend and Hollywood Rose's rhythm guitarist, to join the band, and Guns recruited former L.A. Guns members Ole Beich and Rob Gardner for bass guitar and drums respectively. When Guns left the band, Axl stayed and formed Guns n Roses while Guns re-formed L.A. Guns. In 2002, Nikki Sixx and Guns formed the band Brides of Destruction. Brides of Destruction had three other members Kris Kohls, London LeGrand and John Corabi. Kohls left midway through recording the first album and was replaced by Scot Coogan and they ended finishing the rest of the album. Corabi left the band in March 2003. They released one album in 2004. Sixx left in late 2004 to devote himself fully to Mötley Crüe and was replaced by Scott Sorry and the band added Ginger briefly before he left after a few gigs. Brides of Destruction released a second album in the fall of 2005 before disbanding in late 2005 after British and European gigs which Sorry missed out on. Guns worked with Quiet Riot for one jam session before he decided to put together a band called the Tracii Guns Band, which is now, L.A. Guns, even though another line-up of musicians is using the same name. Recently, Tracii reunited with Jizzy Pearl with whom he recorded the album Shrinking Violet in 1999. The band will record a new album to be released sometime in 2009 with the label Favored Nations/Digital Nations Records
