Biography

Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, media personality and occasional actress, best known for her Gospel and Contemporary Christian music.

Grant is considered to be one of the most important and influential pioneers of modern Gospel and Christian music. She is the best-selling Christian music artist of all time, and is the 19th best-selling female solo artist in the United States. Grant also launched a successful mainstream pop music career in the mid-1980s. She has had 10 Top 40 pop singles and 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks over the past 20 years. Grant has earned three multiplatinum albums, six platinum albums and four additional gold albums. She is also well known for several successful Christmas music albums and tours.

In her career, she has won six Grammy Awards, received 12 Grammy nominations, won 25 Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year four times, and numerous other music, entertainment, humanitarian and achievement awards. In 2005, she was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
