Mark Wilson is an Australian bass guitarist, best known as part of the Melbourne-based rock band, Jet.
He was asked to join the group in 2002 by the other three members, Nic Cester, Chris Cester and Cameron Muncey, but initially refused perhaps out of loyalty to The Ca$inos since he was that band's original bassist. Later he rang up Muncey and the Cesters and agreed to join them instead.
Wilson usually plays a vintage Fender Precision in either sunburst or white. He plays with a pick.
Wilson also plays piano (Look what you've done; Seventeen; She holds a Grudge...), percussion, samples, synthesizer and harmonica for the band. He sings some backing vocals (Rollover DJ; Beat On Repeat, Times Like This...)
He co-wrote 'Start The Show' with Guitarist Cameron Muncey.
On 24 October 2007 JET's drummer Chris Cester and Mark Wilson produced a song, under the name "The Vice Lords" for the Japanese former duo Superfly titled "I Spy I Spy". Mark and Chris wrote the music and the lyrics and were both featured in the Video, playing their instruments.
