A-GPS (Assisted GPS)Assisted Global positioning System. A mobile-based location technology. The mobile uses A-GPS to work out location with the help of both GPS satellites and local network base stations.AFLT (Advanced Forward Link Transmission)A mobile-based location technology. AFLT does not employ GPS satellites to work out locations. Instead, the phone measures signals from nearby cellular base stations and reports the time/distance readings back to the network which is then able to work out your location.AttenuationThe decrease in the strength of a signal due to absorption and the redistribution of energy by objects i.e. buildings.News and SportYou can get BBC News and BBC Sport on your mobile or PDA.
