Everything in presenter Alex Riley's life is rosy. He has a new wife and is looking forward to settling down and raising a family in a beautiful marital home. The trouble is, Alex, like many other people in our fair isle, is struggling to even get within grabbing distance of the property ladder.
And in a jaw-dropping voyage of discovery, he soon finds that while thousands are crying out – nay, desperate – for homes, millions of properties are lying empty. He sets out righting that wrong.

What your program did not bring to everyone's attention is the fact that this government has given some local authorities powers to enter domestic dwellings and make them fit for habitation, if they had been unoccupied for a while and charge the owner's for the privilage.
Something afordable and offered in all local communities. I would like to be able to sign a petition to be passed to Downing Street. This in turn would push the Gouvernment to do what the people want!
It's absolute crap that the councils want to knock down perfectly good homes to rebuild paper thin, expensive, non lasting homes. I would love to buy a piece of history for a cheap price which would stop the carbon footprint that everyone seams to be so bothered about. They need to listen to normal people, instead off thinking about their bank accounts.
How can people get people get involved in making the government sort this out? It's disgusting that so many quality houses are wasted. i was particularly shocked by the state of Liverpool.
It would be large.
Anywhere affordable. I think its such a shame all those empty homes going to waste when people have to wait years on council waiting lists.
I think it is absolutely disgusting that there are so many quality empty homes in the country and yet evermore developments are destroying towns and countryside. Thanks for doing a great show and exposing what I can only describe as a massive political failure.
My ideal home would be one that I could afford!
My ideal home would be affordable, and big enough for me to expand with a family. It's time to put pressure the goverment on housing otherwise there is going to be alot of empty house, and crime will most probably go up to get money to pay for them.
