Genelle then returned to further education and did an Access course before going onto higher education. Whilst Genelle was doing her MA in Broadcast Journalism at Staffordshire University she went to BBC Midlands Today on work placement. She applied for a job in the newsroom putting the news onto the web and began her BBC career. “People have asked if I always wanted to be a Weather Presenter and I hadn’t planned on it at all. It’s just one of those great things where I was at the right place at the right time. The MET office training was intensive, but being British, I’ve always had an interest in the weather and now it’s my job” Genelle enjoys socialising with friends and family, shopping, reading and cooking. She also pretends to like the gym, but, the reality is a few months ago they sent her a letter asking why she had not been there in a while.
