He's also enjoyed a varied career, first working as an engineer before becoming a photographer and then a financial journalist. ![]() Peter Plisner Peter decided to specialise in transport and joined the Midlands Today team in 1994. Reporting on transport and motoring provides a great deal of variety for Peter. He aims to provide coverage on as many issues as possible. Peter says transport is a big issue in the Midlands. “We’re at the centre of the country’s road and rail network. We one of the fastest growing regional airports and despite many closures in recent years we still have several major automotive companies.” Memorable assignments include a trip reporting from on board Concorde, during one of its last ever flights and a visit to China when visited the headquarters of Nanjing Automotive, the company that took over Mg Rover. Away from work, Peter spends time with his family.
