Sir David Attenborough: A Life on Earth Premiering Wednesday 24th September @ 9.30pm on BBC Knowledge
Sir David Attenborough is larger than life, his distinctive voice as recognisable as his name. In this program, renowned Australian journalist Ray Martin turns the cameras away from the beloved wildlife Sir David has spent his life documenting and onto the man himself.
The show is an edited interview culled from a series of sold-out events held in theatres across Australia in 2012 and 2013. It provides a unique insight into Sir David the man, as well as his extraordinary life experiences, untold stories, the evolution of filming techniques and his passion for bringing us closer to nature - supported by clips from the 1950s to the current day.
Conversations include Sir David's upbringing, his family, his love affair with fossils and his earliest fossil foraging experiences. He also reminisces on the early days of TV and how he, as a TV producer, inadvertently ended up in front of the camera presenting natural history programs.
