BBC Worldwide appoints Fiona Eastwood Marketing Director, Consumer Products

Fiona Eastwood joins BBC Worldwide’s Consumer Products division as Marketing Director where she will be responsible for leading the drive to focus on customers and developing the commercial potential of key brands and talent including Top Gear, Doctor Who, Frozen Planet and John Bishop.

In her new role, Fiona will lead marketing plans across all areas of the Consumer Products business, including the UK’s largest TV video publisher 2|entertain and BBC licensed product. Her remit will also extend across music, BBC Shop and co-ordinating marketing activity with BBC Worldwide’s book publishing partners Random House, Pearson and Penguin. Last year the division returned profits of £48.9m.

Fiona joins from BBC Worldwide’s Brands, Consumer and New Ventures division where for the last 14 months she was Commercial Director for Doctor Who. Responsible for driving commercial revenue for Doctor Who globally, Fiona was instrumental in the success of the launch of the Doctor Who Arena Show and international growth particularly in the US. Previously she held roles at BBC Worldwide including Head of Global Marketing Planning and Head of Marketing, Home Entertainment and before that she spent 8 years at the BBC in senior marketing roles.

Fiona will report to Paul Dempsey, Managing Director Consumer Products and CEO 2|entertain and Helen Kellie, Chief Marketing Officer BBC Worldwide. She joins Consumer Products in January 2012.
