BBC News app launches on Amazon’s Kindle Fire in the US

BBC News today announced that the popular BBC News app has launched for Amazon’s Kindle Fire. The app is available immediately as a free download for Kindle Fire users in the Amazon Appstore for Android, currently only available in the US.

This is the first time BBC News app has been available via Amazon - now optimized for Amazon Kindle Fire, Smartphone and Tablet. This follows the global launch of the BBC News app for Android devices and iOS.

The official BBC News app offers the latest world and regional news from the BBC’s global network of journalists. From breaking news, to business, politics, entertainment, technology, the arts and sport, all divided into clear sections; the free app gives enables users to access the latest news wherever they are.

Simple navigation design enables easy scrolling for efficient browsing and clear sections covering top international stories and news from different geographic regions. Articles and in-story video are available in full-screen mode and the size of the text can also be adjusted.

The app enables users to listen and watch the latest BBC News video and audio reports, including live radio via the BBC’s international news network BBC World Service. Content can also be shared via social networks and email.
