Shared Planet

Ep 1/8

Tuesday 11 June

11.00am-11.30am

BBC RADIO 4

Shared Planet explores the complex interface between a growing human population and wildlife, produced in association with the Open University.

Presented by Monty Don, the series looks at a different theme each week, based on field reports from around the world: real places, real people, real issues. In the first programme, we look at the problem of human population and we show this through Africa's most stripy zebra, Grevy's Zebra. Land encroachment, farming practice, changing climate, hunting and more drove this species to minimal numbers. But now there is recovery.
