Athletics: European Indoor Championships

Friday 1 March

Jonathan Edwards introduces live coverage from Gothenburg of the opening day of the biennial European Indoor Championships.

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis is set to spearhead the British challenge as she goes for one of the four gold medals on offer this evening. Ennis withdrew from the European Indoor Championships two years ago with an injury and it remains one of the few major titles she has yet to win. The world indoor pentathlon champion will also have an eye on breaking the world record, set 21 years ago.

Other major events on day one in this evening session are the men and women’s women’s 60m hurdles final.

The commentary team is led by Steve Cram, with Paula Radcliffe, Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson providing the analysis.

Red Button viewers can see coverage of the morning session of the European Indoor Championships from 10am until 1pm, and repeated from 4pm.
