The Diddakoi

Sunday 11 March

Rumer Godden's charming children's story is dramatised by Dan Allum and recorded for Radio 4 Extra.

Kizzy is a diddakoi, a half-gypsy who spent an idyllic childhood being brought up by her gran in Adrimal Twiss' orchard. But Kizzy's life was turned upside down when her gran suddenly died. With no family of her own to take care of her, Kizzy finds that despite her protests, she will be forced to leave Admiral Twiss to be fostered by her teacher Miss Brooke.

Cast features Nisa Cole as Kizzy, Fiona Clarke as Miss Brooke/Emme, Malcolm Raeburn as Admiral Twiss, Eric Potts as Peters/Lumas, Eileen O'Brien as Gran/Mrs Cuthbert, William Hutchby as Clem/Boyo and Lauren Ogden as Prue.
