Lorraine Pascale: How To Be A Better Cook is a new six-part series from chef and TV presenter Lorraine Pascale, commissioned by Alison Kirkham, BBC Head of Commissioning, Factual Features and Formats.

Executive produced by Catherine Welton for BBC In-house Productions, Lorraine helps unconfident cooks to find their feet in the kitchen. The series sees Lorraine create delicious and deceptively easy recipes for six kitchen novices to wow their friends and family at a surprise dinner party. The series is expected to air later this year.

From a woman who admits passing ready meals off as her own, to a husband who’s never cooked, these six inexperienced cooks are in desperate need of some help in the kitchen. Lorraine rolls up her sleeves and spends a day with each of them in their own kitchen, intensively teaching them the skills needed to master their three-course menu.

From creating an easy family meal from scratch to producing posh canapés for a hen party, every episode is packed with delicious food and expert tips we can all learn from. Lorraine also takes the cooks on a special trip to inspire them and help them grow in confidence – be it cooking Chinese food at a street stall or making their own cocktail at a top London bar.
